Our Story
The TRU Open Press Team at Thompson Rivers University is dedicated to creating and promoting open educational resources (OER) that are freely accessible to students. The team, made up of student copy editors, marketing specialists, and e-learning technicians, manages platforms like Pressbooks and WordPress, works with faculty to publish educational content, and raises awareness about the valuable resources available to students.
The Plan Your Path website is one of the key tools developed by the team to help students plan their academic journey from the first year to graduation. It allows users to map out their courses, extracurricular activities, co-op opportunities, and more, providing a clear framework to help them understand their academic goals and make informed decisions.
By using Plan Your Path, students can organize their goals, track their progress, and make strategic decisions that will guide them through the next 4-5 years of their university experience, setting themselves up for success in both their academic and career pursuits.
